April 12th 2013: Dissassembly of distributor.

As already mentioned the distributor was missing. The following pictures show the dissassembly of a used one, bought at ebay.

We replace most parts: Body, lid, rotor, lower and upper plate, bushings, shaft.

May 11th 2013

Distributor is finished. We replaced the bushings. And upper and lower plates we replaced with the more modern version with the condensor on top. Details below each picture.

Removal of old bushing was quite tricky.

Pressing in new bushing. Reaming was not necessary, fit was losse but not tight.

Shimmimg end play: The fiber gasket was too thick.

We used three thin spacers, but could not reduce end play below 0,003 inches.

Coil finally installed. The reproduction srews to attach the coil bracket on the firewall had the wrong threads so we had to use the original ones, which are not jet properly restored but badly rusted and have stripped threads.
